Just getting here is fun: chef/owner António Coelho‚s venerable establishment is tucked away in one of Old Taipa village‚s back alleys which resound to the click of the abacus and occasional squawks of Cantonese. There are no gimmicks here, simply excellent, solid Macanese and Portuguese food, such as African chicken with garlic, onions, chilli, ginger and coconut sauce. Try and book a table for the second dinner sitting, which will allow ample time for browsing and sluicing. Never mind that António‚s has won a string of international awards ‚ the real plaudits come from the full tables and contented smiles at every meal.
António‚s signature dishes include lobster cocktail, gratinate goat cheese with acacia honey and Portuguese olive oil and Portuguese duck rice.
An extensive menu showcases favourite Portuguese dishes expertly prepared by Chef António. His delicious cuisine is complemented by a warm decor and inviting atmosphere, making António a perfect place for business luncheons, private dinners and functions.
