The Museum for National Identity (MIN) opens its doors to the public in 2006. The project was conceived by President Maduro, after meeting the Panama Canal Museum, and in the absence of a cultural space where Hondurans Could know its history, identity characteristics and culture in general, proceed to restore the building that was formerly known as the Palace of the Ministry.

It is a permanent institution open to the public, non-profit at the service of society and its development, which acquires, preserves, investigates, communicates and exhibits for purposes of study, education and enjoyment, the material and immaterial evidence of the inhabitants Inhabited and inhabited the Honduran territory in order to strengthen the historical memory and the sense of national identity.
